Meeting You Where You Are,
Helping Your Home Tell Your Story

At Phorrest and Phinn, we will meet you where you are, in every sense.
We believe that the process should be inclusive, transparent, and most of all, enjoyable.

What We Do

We begin by helping you define or refine your style before any design work starts. Our initial consultation helps you understand what you have, not just what you need. We add a sense of humanity and place by incorporating the people, places, and things you love. This process includes an initial interview and assessment, followed by defining the vision, scope, and scale of the next steps. We offer tiered solutions to fit your timeframe and budget.

Who We Serve

Wherever you are in your home’s journey, whether it’s new or established, your first apartment or your forever home, we can help ensure that it tells your unique story. Our specialty is helping clients discover hidden treasures within their homes and in our city and communities. If you’re interested in classic taste, in pieces that you’ll keep forever, and in solutions that benefit local and small businesses, then you’re in the right place. We may not be the right fit for everyone, but our purpose is to serve everyone by the choices we make, together.

Who We Are

Nicole Tichon, founder of Phorrest + Phinn, grew up in the Mon Valley and has spent decades shaping her design approach by creating and reimagining spaces, often with vintage, antique, and reclaimed pieces. Her experience taught her that limitations can inspire creativity, meaningful design does not require excess, and every home should reflect its owner’s priorities. We focus on sustainability, local craftsmanship, and intentional design, helping clients create spaces that embody their values, honor continuity, and foster a sense of place. Our name reflects our commitment to these principles, the founder’s Pittsburgh roots, and the influence of a hardworking, loving family. It also honors the memory of Phorrest’s mother, our founder’s sister, whose example inspires us to strive for excellence every day.
